Bitten by the Quiltingbug

For quite some time I have left quilting fall by the wayside, turning more to knitting, embroidery and lately spinning. A friend's struggle whether to join into a "block a day" group, which she decided against, but due to a joke I made (which obviously misfired) made her join another year long quiltproject, got me interested in quilts again and so I decided to join the same project.

The Splendid Sampler will start on Valentines Day 2016 and we will get two 6,5 inch blocks every week, ending up with 100 blocks in different techniques. Christmas and New Year will be time off.
Two blocks every week? Working full time? Painting, knitting, spinning, traveling, drawing, trying to eat healthier and aim for a 30 minute walk every day?
No problem. To quote Dr. Who: People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to affect, but actually, from a non-liniear, non subjective point of view it is more like a big ball of wibbily wobbly timey wimey......stuff.
So, I'll take this big ball, let it wibble and wobble and hope I will not end up all "whiney"... All I have to to is decide which fabrics to use: the left over Dear Jane fabric (maybe I should finish all the boarder triangles first), the precious batics I hardly ever use (but with applique, that might not be such a good idea, as batic fabrics are quite hard to handsew) or the even more precious Northcot Silk "Stone" series I bough especially for the Baltimore Garden Quilt (a hummungous applique project, which I will probably not start before I win the lottery and can stop to work). Decissions, decissions....
